High Performance

High Performance Review in English

This review is conceived as an exercise in discovering the sites of excellence within the department and identifying our areas for improvement. The scope of the review encompasses all the teaching and learning in the Department of English, and seeks an active role for the key parties involved in this, namely the teachers, students and their families.

The review will examine the learning experience and outcomes for students in the department of English who have been identified as “High Performance”. This is a self-defined category that concentrates on students whose progress tracks towards 4 or more curriculum levels. (This category is inherently fluid, so for the purposes of this review we will concentrate on students who meet our High Performance criteria as at Summer 2015).

The review will be held over two discrete days, the first acting as a probe, where we uncover the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to our high achieving students’ on-going success – whilst the second day will operate as a showcase of the strong practice in lessons that we have identified and will engage with the students and their families in the observation process.

The outcomes of this review will feed into the department’s year plan, allowing us to use the evidence we have gathered to define our focus for improvement over the year to come.

All our outcomes will also be published on this site so you’re able to keep track of our work. We welcome your input at any time.

High Achiever Survey

If you’re the parent or guardian of a student at the London Nautical School, we’d be very grateful if you were able to take a few moments to complete this survey. We are asking for you to give us feedback about our performance in stimulating students to achieve at the highest level possible
